On November 9th, Toshihiko Matsumoto, professor of Engineering department and Director of Nanoscience and Technology Center of Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan, was invited to visit East China University of Science and Technology. Professor Changsheng Liu, vice-President and Dean of college of Materials, met the guests in Yifu Building. Changsheng Liu and Toshihiko Matsumoto signed the academic cooperation and exchange agreement on behalf of college of Materials science and Technology of our university and Nanoscience and Technology Center of Tokyo Polytechnic University respectively.
Since the memorandum of cooperation was signed between our university and Tokyo Polytechnic University in 2000, the two sides have carried out various academic exchanges and cooperation. Through the talks, the two sides reached a lot of consensus on teachers' visits and further study, exchange of students, joint research and academic conferences. In order to further strengthen and deepen academic exchanges and cooperation, the two sides signed an academic cooperation and exchange agreement for the next 5 years.
Subsequently, Professor Matsumoto delivered a report on "Water-mediated thermoreversible conversion between macrocycleand linear oligomers" for teachers and students in East China University of Science and Technology. Professor Matsumoto focused on the recent research progress in the transformation of small molecules into 6-membered ring macromolecules in the aqueous phase. Before the end of the report, Professor Matsumoto discussed and communicated with the teachers and students about related synthesis, structural characterization and application. The signing ceremony and report meeting were presided over by Professor Jiaping Lin, and professor Shaoliang Lin and others from college of Materials Science and Technology attended the meeting.
After the report, Professor Jiaping Lin also introduced the development of his research group in recent years to Professor Matsumoto, and discussed the specific cooperation issues.
