Ph.D., Professor


Prof. Jiaping LIN received his bachelor and master degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Ph.D. from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST, 1993). Then, he got postdoctoral fellowship from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Lise-Meitner fellowship of Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung (FWF), and worked as a postdoctor in Tokyo Institute of Technology (with Prof. Akihiro Abe) and University of Linz in Austria (with Prof. H. Janeschitz-Kriegl), respectively. Returning home from abroad in 1997, he has been in ECUST ever since then. He became a full professor in 1999.

His research interests are self-assembly, biomaterials and polymer liquid crystal. He has undertaken a numbers of research projects such as programs from National Natural Science Foundation of China and National 863 project. More than 110 high standard research papers have been published so far. He was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and granted the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project.

Now, he is the executive dean of graduate school of ECUST, director of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Materials, chief editor of Journal of Functional Polymers, member of the advisory board of Macromolecules, ACS Macro Lett., Journal of Materials Chemistry A, and committee member of Polymer Division of Chinese Chemistry Society.
