On the morning of December 30th, 2019, Docter Zhe Qiang, assistant professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering, University of Southern Mississippi, came to our school for academic communications at the invitation of Professor Jiaping Lin, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and presented an academic report entitled On-demand polymer nanostructure manipulation and revealing its assembly dynamics.
Polymer self-assembly is one of the most important techniques for preparing ordered nanostructures. Docter Zhe Qiang introduced the effective path to achieve the orientation regulation of nanostructures, and explored the assembly dynamic process and internal mechanism. The combination of solvent annealing method and shear method can achieve the orientation regulation of nanostructures efficiently and conveniently. In addition, He highlighted the latest progress of super-resolution optical microscopy, especially the real-time imaging technology with nanometer resolution, which can observe the dynamic process of nanostructure evolution and polymer chain movement in situ, so as to further guide the precise design and functionalization of polymer nanostructure. Zhe Qiang's report progressed from the simple to the profound, and the report content aroused the interest of the present teachers and students. Zhe Qiang also answered the questions raised by everyone in detail.
