On the morning of October 18, Professor Shunai Che of Shanghai Jiaotong University was invited to visit and gave a wonderful academic report entitled synthesis of functional mesoporous materials by co-structure-directing route in the second conference room of the office building. The meeting was presided over by Professor Jiaping Lin, executive vice president of the graduate school. More than 200 teachers and graduate students from different schools attended the meeting.
Professor Shunai Che has been awarded The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Shunai Che and her colleagues have been engaged in the research of mesoporous materials for many years, have achieved important research results, and published many academic papers in high-level academic journals. They developed a new method of synthesis of new mesoporous materials by using an anionic surfactant as a template, and they synthesized the chiral mesoporous material for the first time and propose the concept of chiral mesopores. In recent years, a series of research results have been published in Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, J. Am. Chem. Soc. , Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. , Small and many other high-level magazines.
The report mainly focused on the synthesis method of organic functional mesoporous materials by using the co-structure-directing route, which is different from the traditional methods. She explained the synthesis method of chiral mesoporous materials in detail and the the mechanism of the formation of the chiral feature. The report interspersed the process of encountering problems, thinking about problems, and solving problems in the process of scientific research. With her unique personal charm and persistent attitude toward scientific research, Professor Che has influenced and influenced the teachers and students present, making everyone benefit a lot and feel deeply. At the report meeting, Professor Che also gave detailed answers to the questions raised by teachers and graduate students and had a heated discussion with everyone.
Before the meeting started, Professor Jiaping Lin and Professor Che had a brief discussion on the research work carried out by their respective groups, and then they determined the preliminary plan of their cooperation.
