Academic Events | Professor Jiaping Lin was invited to make a report at the Japan Polymer Annual Conference

Invited by the Japan Polymer Society, Professor Jiaping Lin from the School of Materials Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, went to Nagoya, Japan to participate in the 56th Japan Polymer Symposium from September 19th to 21st and made a 50-minute conference about liquid crystal phase behavior and self-assembly properties of polypeptides.

The Japan Polymer Symposium is sponsored by the Japan Polymer Society. Nearly 3,000  polymer science researchers in Japan participated in the meeting for academic communication ,which is the most important academic meeting in the polymer science community in Japan. The National Polymer Academic Symposium is held once a year. Each Japan Polymer Symposium invites 1-2 famous polymer science researchers to make lectures. Professor Jiaping Lin was invited to give a special report at the conference, which reflected that the work carried out by his research team and the development of our university's polymer discipline had received others’ attention and recognition.

In recent years, with the support of the school and the joint efforts of teachers, the domestic and international academic status of the polymer discipline has rapidly improved. Many professors served as editorial boards of important domestic and international academic journals, directors of relevant domestic academic groups, and important academic institutions at home and abroad. And they made reports at many important meetings.

In addition, in 2008, the School of Materials Science and Engineering would also host the 5th East Asian Polymer Symposium. The first East Asian Polymer Symposium was held in 1995. It has now become an important platform for polymer science researchers in East Asia and around the world to exchange academic achievements and discuss academic issues. Many well-known experts and scholars from the polymer industry in China, the United States, Japan, Korea and other countries in East Asia would attend the 5th East Asian Polymer Symposium. At present, the School of Materials has been actively preparing for the work of the conference.
