On the morning of December 9, Professor Li of the college of materials of Xiamen University was invited to visit the school of material science and engineering of our school, and he made a wonderful academic report entitled preparation methods of micro/nanoporous polymer materials and its applications in the first conference room of the school of materials. The report meeting was presided over by Associate Professor Shaoliang Lin, assistant dean of the school of materials. Professor Meidong Lang, vice presidents of the school of materials, and Professor Yongsheng Li, as well as many teachers and graduate students, attended the report meeting.
Professor Li is a Distinguished Professor of Minjiang Scholars, and he is supported by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University. Professor Li mainly focuses on living controlled radical reactions, methodological research of new porous materials, functional polymers, computer simulations, and so on. He has already published more than 30 papers in global academic journals such as Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. , Advanced Materials, Soft Matter, Macromolecules, and so on.
In the report, Professor Li introduced a series of new technologies for the preparation of micro, nano, and micro/nanoporous polymers developed by his research group based on the static breath figure method and selectively swelling method through supercritical fluids. Using this material as a template, they realized the application of porous polymer films in cytoskeleton, photo masks, the growth of patterned carbon nanotube arrays, and the preparation of electrode materials. Professor Li's scientific research ideas and methods benefited the teachers and students attending the meeting a lot. After listening to the report, the participating teachers and graduate students raised many questions and ideas. Professor Li answered and analyzed them one by one and had a heated discussion with the audience.
