On the morning of August 31, Professor Edward J. Kramer of the material department of the University of California, Santa Barbara, visited the laboratory and gave a report entitled thin film block copolymer cylinder physics: design and application. The report meeting was presided over by Professor Jiaping Lin, executive vice president of the graduate school. Professor Meidong Lang, vice presidents of the school of materials, as well as many teachers and graduate students, attended the report meeting.

Professor Edward J. Kramer is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a member of the American Physical Society, and also a member of the American Materials Research Society. He is an internationally renowned scholar and authoritative expert in polymer materials. He and his colleagues mainly focus on the structures, properties, and applications of polymers. Their work has been published in Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc. , Macromolecules, and many other academic journals. During the report, Professor Kramer introduced the main scientific research achievements made by him and his colleagues in recent years. Their scientific research ideas and methods benefited the teachers and students attending the meeting a lot. After the report, Professor Kramer also answered the questions raised by teachers and students one by one and had a heated discussion with them.
