On the morning of June 17, Dr. Shang of the Pennsylvania State University was invited to visit the school and gave an academic report entitled vibrational and configurational contributions to the thermodynamics in ordered and disordered systems from first-principles calculations. The report was presided over by Professor Meidong Lang, the school of materials and materials, and Professor Jiaping Lin, executive vice president of the graduate school, as well as many graduate students from the school of materials, attended the report meeting.
Dr. Shang mainly focuses on the effects of structure, composition, temperature, and other conditions of metals and metal alloy materials on material properties from the first-principle calculations by theoretical and simulation methods. Dr. Shang and his colleagues have published many high-level academic research papers on their work, which have attracted much attention from peers.
In the report, Dr. Shang briefly introduced their research work, focusing on their research ideas and topic selection, which gave us deep inspiration. After the report, many teachers and graduate students put forward many questions and ideas. Dr. Shang Shunli answered them one by one and had a heated discussion with the audience.
